Owen Wells Accepts Champions for ChildrenGiraffe Award On behalf of the Libra Foundation, President Owen Wells, recently accepted a Champions for ChildrenGiraffe Award from the Maine Children's Alliance. The awards are given annually by the Alliance in celebration of the everyday local heroes who "stick their necks out" for kids. The Libra Foundation was nominated for the award for their support of raising readers and many other children's initiatives. In accepting the award, Wells said, "I generally do not accept awards. However, I decided to in this case to focus attention on the doctors nurses and hospitals …for the outstanding job they have done in making raising readers such a success."
